Know about TRIPHALA 

What is Triphala?

As the name suggests, Triphala means three fruits. Triphala is a combination of three Ayurveda herbs in equal quantity. These three herbs are, Haritaki (Terminalia Chebula), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellerica) and Amalaki (Embillica Officinalis).  We will see each of these 3 herbs simultaneously.

 

Haritaki:>  Haritaki is one of the best digestives and carminatives of Ayurveda. Haritaki is even easily suitable to small children. It is told that Haritaki plays a role of mother for a motherless child.

Bibhitaki:>  The word Bibhitaki means that it takes away all the fear of diseases. Bibhitaki helps to balance three dosha especially Kapha.  It also helps formatting body’s nutrient plasma, muscles and bones.

Amalaki:>  Amalaki is also one of the most widely used herbs of Ayurveda. Amalaki is a hair and skin tonic. Amalaki acts as a rasayan of the body. It is a revitaliser and rejuvenator.

 

Uses Of Triphala:>

  • Triphala is a digestive.
  • Triphala reduces the Ama (undigested food residuals)
  • Triphala is a good laxative. One can consume it with castor oil for effective laxation
  • Triphala is very effective on reducing weight
  • Triphala is good for eyes. Eye washing with trifala water is very effective
  • Triphala is also a good hair tonic
  • Triphala is one of the best remidies for diabetes mellitus
